For The Hills Swim & Tennis Club logo animation, my goal was to create a peaceful and relaxing animation that reflects the tranquil environment of the club which is located in the Oakland hills. I animated the camera in After Effects using a null object to pull out and reveal The Hills Swim & Tennis Club logo. I also used the particular particle effect to grab the attention of the viewer and lead their eye to the logo and into the opening shot.

Project Details

Although the product was still in development at the time this video was produced, the objective of this video was to introduce the HDCC-200A closed captioning card to the public. While being used as a bumper between longer product promo videos, this video was displayed during the 2011 National Brodcast Association Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Using graphic elements from the HDCC print brochure I was able to maintain Wohler’s branding and style aesthetics across the two different mediums.

Not only does this video show a typical closed captioning set up, it also displays how the HDCC-200A improves and fits into a normal closed captioning workflow.

A student group projected that I collaborated with three other students on re-branding for the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF). We conceptualized ideas as a team and then worked together to execute them. For this project our deliverable’s were a logo, 30 second bumper, web site, and a event poster. We conducted dailies each day with our client to show our project progress. During these dailies, we received critique on our work. After dailies we would meet as a team to discuss among ourselves, what task and items each team member needed to complete before our next meeting with the client.

Project Details

In the video Sunni Ali stares at his dead body as he contemplates with suicide. After listening to the song track a couple of times, I knew that I wanted the edit to have a slow feel to it. After a few rounds of edit revisions the footage was desaturated to give it a cold and gloomy feel. The title animations were created in After Effects CS5.5, exported to quicktime renders with alpha channels, and imported into the Premier Pro project.

Project Details

This project is an animated music video conceptualized and executed with two other students in five weeks. First we developed and pitched concepts to the client. After receiving feedback from the client, we finalized our idea and created storyboards and style frames to present in our next meeting.

The majority of project was created in Illustrator and animated in After Effects, but elements created in Cinema 4D and particles from Apple Motion were used as well. This was a very intense 5 week project, we lived and breathed the project everyday and even had a few 12hour+ days working hard to meet the deadline. Our final piece was well received by our peers, and it was even chosen as a finalist at the 2008 Motion Conference held in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Project Details

A student group project for Strong Entertainment, San Francisco, Ca. For this project, our task was to create an online marketing video to promote Robert Strong’s comedy show. At the beginning of this project, we had the opportunity to participate in a conference call with Mr. Strong to personally hear his thoughts and ideas about what the final piece should be. This was a great chance for us to pick his brain and gain an insight of what he was ejecting from us. After speaking with him, we then came together as a group and brainstormed ideas until we finally reached a consensus of what we wanted to pitch to him. Collectively, we settled on a pop up style animation along with text reviews from various publications to help in marketing the show to viewers.

This was a group project created with 12 other creatives. We brainstormed, came up with a concept for the magazine. and defined our target audience. To keep the look and feel consistent throughout the magazine we defined we used only two fonts, limited our color palate to a small group of colors, and a set a value for spacing between paragraph columns.
